Beth Ahabah Museum & Archives is Richmond's museum of Jewish history, art and culture. The cemetery is now comprised of 8.4 acres. Novel grave markers can be seen throughout Hebrew Cemetery. Elaborate ornamental iron fences surround some family plots and the Civil War section.
This walking tour of the cemetery will point out these and other fascinating features of the oldest active cemetery in Richmond and the oldest active Jewish cemetery in the South. Terrain and walkways are uneven. Tours range from 30-45 minutes based on questions. Max for each tour is 20 people.
The Jewish Community Relations Committee is the public relations and advocacy arm of the Jewish Community Federation of Richmond. Founded in 1935, JCFR represents Jewish constituents in the Greater Richmond and Central Virginia region.
