Richmond Jewish Education Matrix
Professional Development Subsidies
SUBSIDY INFORMATION
Recognizing the importance of professional development for educators in Richmond's Jewish education spaces, the Richmond Jewish Education Matrix is providing funds for Jewish professional development or professional development that will specifically enhance the educator's work in Richmond's Jewish education spaces.
These funds are provided by a generous grant through the Jewish Community Federation of Richmond. The amount to be awarded will depend upon available funds and number of applicants.
Requirements for funding through the Federation are as follows:
* Eligible recipients are those who are currently employed as educators at Richmond's Jewish educational institutions or at the discretion of the Federation.
* The subsidies will be available for nationally recognized educational conferences, classes, and programs, ideally with Jewish institutions, and will directly enrich the educator's practice within Richmond's Jewish education spaces. A sample list of such programs is below; other programs will be considered.
* Selection of participants will be based upon the following:
- All applications must be received before the start date of requested conference or program.
- Applications will be received on a rolling basis.
- Applications must include appropriate proof of course/conference payment.
- Approval by applicant’s Educational Director must be submitted with application.
- RJEM subsidies will cover up to 75% or $500, whichever sum is less, of educational classes, conferences and programs.
- Requests will not exceed $500 in any given fiscal year per educator.
All subsidy payments will be made directly to the educator or employer before June 30.
